Brief Bio

I am a researcher and designer focused on the creative synthesis of architecture and structural engineering. I am currently an Assistant Professor in Building Technology within the Department of Architecture at MIT, where I run the Digital Structures research group and co-direct the Structural Design Lab.

I studied Architecture as an undergraduate at MIT, followed by a masters degree in Structural Engineering at Stanford University. I practiced for several years as a structural designer at Simpson Gumpertz & Heger in Boston before returning to academia to earn a masters degree in Computation for Design and Optimization and a Ph.D. in Building Technology, both at MIT.
